Craniosacral Therapy for the Face

Some of our therapists can even incorporate Craniosacral Therapy into your Spa Facial Massage session. This healing modality is derived from osteopathy, and was pioneered by the Upledger Institute, with Dr. John Upledger at its helm. Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle modality. What exactly IS a Massage 'Facelift'?

You're likely asking yourself this very question. And, with good reason. This technique is not well known, and is better known as an Accupressure Facial Massage, or just simply, Facial Massage.

This technique involves no actual surgery, unlike the more common medical procedure with the same name. A Massage Facelift is essentially a focused neck, scalp, and face massage, working on the reasons we have creases.

The emphasis here is to help relax and tone the skin and underlying tissues, as the underlying muscles and connective tissues form a scaffolding upon which the skin is anchored. When those underlying tissues are massaged, the appearance of the skin is affected.

While the effects of a Massage Facelift™ are in no way comparable to the striking and instantaneous changes brought about by surgical procedures, after even one focused Facial Massage session, many clients see improvement.

A very detailed and focused massage of all the key facial muscles and trigger points helps take years off the client's appearance in only a short time, while helping provide a profound level of relaxation, perhaps unparalleled. For de-stressing, facial massages are among the most effective treatment, as the head and neck store unbelievable amounts of tension. The jaw alone can store thousands of pounds of pressure per-square-inch!

Thus far, no studies have been conducted regarding the efficacy of Facial Massage, though anecdotal accounts support its effectiveness. Facial Massage excels at helping deal with stubborn neck-aches and headaches of many types.
